Good lord, I just realized that I spelled Katamari wrong in the TITLE of this deviation. SHAMEFUL. :ohmygod: :blushes:

So, as you may recall from my previous post, my Katamari was NOT completed at the time of the contest on Saturday. :O While it is still not 100% done, I'd say I'm about 80-90% done now. :D

sigh, and what's another costume posting, without a shameless plea for votes!! :slow: This time it's for American Apparel! :pringles:

But ok, this time it's a little more complicated. :hmm:

You can vote for me here: [link]

Let me warn you now: DO NOT vote unless you are really bored and/or have time to kill and/or want to see a wide assortment of costumes created with American Apparel garments, and/or you are a super duper nice person who is willing to help me win one of five $100 gift certificates there. :heart: ^^; HERE'S WHY: There are no direct links to entries. In order to vote for someone specific, you have to vote for ALL the entries that were submitted after that particular entry (and/or [wtf I love that combo, haha] whichever entries have less votes). So in this case, because I submitted my entry on Thursday (sorry I didn't get to post about it until now :( toooo many things going on :crying:), you're probably going to have to wade through a good 50-100 entries before you can vote on mine. :( While it is really inconvenient for us vote whores, hahah, I can totally understand why they did it, and I'm actually glad they did, as I feel it's definitely one of the more fair ways of voting/polling I've seen online! (when it comes to contests like this, that is)

So yes, I GREATLY apologize for the inconvenience and so because of that I must restate: DO NOT vote unless you are really bored and/or have time to kill and/or want to see a wide assortment of costumes created with American Apparel garments, and/or you are a super duper nice person who is willing to help me win one of five $100 gift certificates there. :heart: ^^;

more about the costume...

I wore my costume/took my Katamari to work as well as to another costume contest... but those were sorta lackluster events. :hmm: I would go into more detail, but it's almost 11am and I have been up all night updating my website because of impending new visitors checking it out [hopefully :fingerscrossed:] so I've been killing myself for the past 20 hours or so trying to work on it. :boogie: :slow:... so suffice it to say: PAR FOR THE COURSE--I mean, too tired to write. x___X :faint:

Regarding the additions since the previous pic: I added the trademark BUMPS on the Katamari! :dance: I still need to add more rings/spots, but that's for another time. :faint:

They're made of plastic bowls (clear ones, so they're ALL spraypainted :O), and they're actually pretty flimsy too :hmm: despite their appearance!

If you're wondering what the rest of the costume is comprised of:

- I knitted the hat/earmuffs thanks to a SUPER AWESOME pattern created by the wonderfully talented Nikol Lohr thriftyknitter.com/?p=84 (took about 1-2 months to finish them, working on and off)

- The green shirt, skirt, and purple leggings were from AA.

- The shoes were from Payless and painted purple.

- The nose is made of fun foam and taped together. haha I want to redo it.

- The ball was purchased online from an awesome GIANT BALL store. I LOVE GIANT BALLS. hahahah :slow: As you can see, I just started my katamari so that's why I only have a chair, a box of Count Chocula, and a pink slipper/flip flop on there. hahah

ps- If you have no idea wtf my costume is supposed to be, see here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpFFzWPzA2c and here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=79w8yQTH5b0 and here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katamari_damacy

I said it before, I'll say it again: I hope to post better pics eventually, but for now this is all I have ^^; hehe

In closing: CHUCHUCHURU-CHUCHUCHUCHURU~~~ :iconohnoesplz::iconkatamariplz:

ps- I'm placing this pic in humorous photography this time, as the last time I placed my pic in "costumes" someone reported my dev as a miscategorization, and so now I gotta go through the whole process of finding out WHY and which category they think it should go in, etc. etc. :hmm: haha man, so I'm starting to think someone is patrolling my gallery for miscategorized deviations or something, as I've gotten THREE miscategorization notices in the past month (as opposed to the ZERO I've received in my three years of being on DA :O)... So I dunno if it's anyone who's watching my stuff or just random passerbys, haha, BUT(T) just in case it is someone reading this: If you think I placed my pic in the wrong category pleeease feel free to comment or send me a note instead of reporting my pic as a miscategorization. :crying: I am always open to hearing other points of view, and it's a real pain to have to contact the help desk to find out why they moved my deviation, and then figure out where I should move it, etc. (cuz in some cases it becomes an extra ordeal because I've been locked out of the category it DOES belong in :hmm:), so it'd be much easier if you just tell me so I can see where I went wrong and/or clarify if there's any misunderstanding about my reasoning.
Please understand that I am weird and also dumb, so therefore my perception of things is often skewed from the norm, so while I do always take care to read the gallery descriptions, sometimes (or most of the time :slow:) my idea of what can be submitted to a particular gallery is TOTALLY OFF from what it actually is. ^^; So yes, if the reporter(s) is/are reading this, please feel free to tell me instead of reporting me. (that is, unless you hate me, hahaha, in which case, your plot to cause me grief is working :D) Thank you. :heart:
